• Valid. The evidence provided must directly relate to the competency, unit, module or qualification that you are claiming recognition for.

• Reliable. The evidence you provide must show that you have consistently applied the knowledge or skill that you are claiming recognition for.

• Flexible. The assessment process must be sufficiently flexible to provide opportunities for you to successfully meet the outcomes.

• Fair. The process must be transparent (giving you every opportunity to supply evidence); timely (at the right time for you, so that you're not put off future study or employment opportunities) and it must be culturally inclusive.
